Pilgrimages of Pain and Hope
Since 2002, I have been leading journeys (named “pilgrimages of pain and hope”) to Uganda and Rwanda. The goal of these journeys has been to lead students and Christians from the U.S to connect more deeply to the social, cultural, historical and lived reality of Africa in a way that allows them to appreciate the developments in Africa as part of their Christian story, and thus to imagine new possibilities of being the church of Christ, a church thatis unapologetically catholic in its outlook and way of life. As a result, I am extending the pilgrimage program.
